This position can be located in Seattle, Austin, D.C, New York City, Nashville, or Phoenix. Other U.S corp office locations can be considered upon further discussion with qualified candidates.


The Grocery Delivery team within Global Specialty Fulfillment is looking a Sr. Program Manager to help optimize the product and delivery strategy for Amazon’s 3rd Party Delivery Program.


The Sr. Program Manager on this team will own last mile delivery strategy planning and execution that will drive key decisions impacting delivery cost, quality, and form a key input into last mile tech’s Flex labor planning and scheduling roadmap.


The Sr. Program Manager will conduct independent analysis to drive strategic recommendations for an expanding business, manage an array of stakeholders, and drive projects to achieve process improvements.


The Sr. PM will need to present complex analysis and recommendations to influence and gain alignment from cross-functional stakeholders.


Key job responsibilities


Key Responsibilities



  • Display Ownership over a new and expanding business

  • Manage full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations

  • Analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics

  • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions

  • Partner with teams across the business you support and beyond to identify and coordinate resources

  • Partner with customers, internal / external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order

  • Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from third-party solutions, security not considered, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.)

  • Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, strategy, management, or other technical field

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in start-up environment, consulting, or operations

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel, SQL and Tableau

  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management within retail or other industries


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Preferred Qualifications



  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics or equivalent technical field from an accredited university

  • Experience in developing business models


  • Ability to break down ambiguous asks into structured and solvable problems

  • Analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use data and models to develop business cases

  • Due to the varying skill and exposure levels in this wide group of stakeholders, it is important for the PM to possess a deep understanding of the subject and communicate problems or frame potential solutions effectively.

  • Ability to onboard bar raising talent, create on boarding strategies that effectively ramp up team members on complicated processes, and effectively manage resources and priorities across the team.
