This fast-growing company has 7 locations in the state of Iowa and Nebraska.
Job Title: Truck Driver
Reports to: Service Manager
Job Summary:
Responsible for transporting primarily ag and construction equipment, with many loads being oversize/overweight, using tractor-trailer trucks with a GVWR over 26001 lbs.
Essential Duties:
1. Pick up and deliver equipment while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states
2. Load and unload cargo
3. Keep a log of trips and activities such as amount and type of cargo being delivered
4. Drive long distances, primarily in Iowa and surrounding states
5. Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order, fill up on fuel
6. Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road
7. Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion
8. Follow all applicable traffic laws
9. Inspect trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects found
10. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs
11. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
12. Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking
13. Get equipment to client on time
14. Take special precautions while driving
15. Be willing to perform other duties during downtime
16. Provide a positive customer experience

Competencies:
- Must have valid Class A CDL
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must have knowledge of and comply with FMCSA rules and regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, and inspection and maintenance of equipment.
- Must be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle as demonstrated by a current medical examiner`s certificate
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and pass Clearinghouse query
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Team oriented with positive attitude, good communication skills, desire to provide excellent customer service
- Previous experience with farming implements and construction equipment is preferred
- Knowledge of machines securement rules and regulations is helpful but will train the right individual.
- Paper logs - no ELD
