Summary:

The Bus Driver provides a clean, safe and reliable transportation and ensures that our Veterans enjoy a comfortable ride to the VA Hospital and other programs/activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport Veterans to and from Home4Vets Facility (Shreveport) and VA Hospital-related activities in a safe manner.
• Appropriately operate all vehicles and equipment in fleet.
• Communicate effectively with members of the VA Hospital and coordinators.
• Handle bus and Veterans in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to relate well to Veterans and with special needs students.
• Inspect bus prior to and after each route or activity trip and file inspection forms with Home4Vets Program Manager.
• Maintain bus in clean condition and inform Home4Vets Program Manager of any routine maintenance or repairs required.
• Adhere to local health and safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
