Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced design manager to lead a team of UX designers working closely with the Head of UX Design to deliver strategic customer facing experiences that raise the bar in healthcare. With a focus on growing design culture, you will shape the product design process and lead a team to craft beautifully designed seams between digital and physical moments in a customers medication journey. You will collaborate with product, tech and operations within Pharmacy and form partnerships in the health domain to inform product design strategy and deliver innovative experiences.

You use a human-centered design approach to solve problems and bring a range of voices to the table. You re interested in inventing and simplifying complex systems and guiding teams to deliver innovative experiences that exceed the needs of customers. You have a passion for systems thinking, crafting data-driven ideas, and devising creative solutions to complex customer problems.

You re looking for a role that is both parts growing talent and informing strategy touching everything from new initiatives to feature launches. You are just as interested in the details (points, radii, and pixels) as much as you enjoy shaping the larger vision and system. You are highly collaborative and have a high bar for the craft of design and you know how to help your team reach it through good process, clear direction, and achievable goals. Last but not least, you get excited by the opportunities to change pharmacy (and healthcare) and are interested in, or an active, champion of health equity.

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role with work grounded in a human-centered design practice.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience directing and guiding teams to deliver on full-life-cycle design projects--from design strategy through execution.
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating human-centered design solutions solving complex challenges.
  • Bachelor s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A combination of the following is highly desired:
  • Experience or interest in healthcare experiences, health equity and accessibility in healthcare.
  • Experience building consumer brands (bonus for service heavy experiences) and telling strong human-centered stories.
  • Experience in physical (print and industrial design packaging) and digital spaces that support a large-scale systems and interactions with various stakeholders.
  • Experience leading design for a variety of form factors, including mobile, desktop, voice, and physical experiences.
  • A proven track record developing design talent across all levels. You bring both rigor and creativity to a growing design organization.
  • High product and design judgement. You have a vision and know how to get there. Including, the talent for crafting world-class design solutions that meet the needs of customers and the operation while maintaining experience predictability and patterns.
  • Top-notch business writing skills.
  • Experience working in an operationally heavy businesses and a proven track record in influencing the customer experience at all levels.
  • Experience in quick paced, startup-like environment and changing landscape. You find creative ways to push beyond seemingly rigid constraints to stretch yourself, your team, and the bounds of "what is possible."
  • Finely tuned analytical skills. You pinpoint the important information within a sea of quantitative and qualitative data and have the ability to connect the dots to an experience narrative that inspires the organization to drive innovation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, storytelling, and analytical skills, including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and senior executives.
