As a Software Development Engineer on the team you will : Design and build business critical, highly available software components in a distributed architecture, connecting multi-tenant cloud services, physical servers and hundreds of network connected PCs to optimize our fleet of fulfillment infrastructure and robots Collaborate with Hardware Engineers, Machine Learning Scientists, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Deployment Engineers Participate in and lead software architecture and design reviews Prototype and test concepts or features, through simulation tools and emulators and also with robotic equipment Identify the right technologies to delight customers by working backwards from customer needs and working directly with customers to test prototypes and incorporate feedback Coach and mentor engineers on the team to foster a supportive culture of collaboration and delivery to high standards of scalability and performance About us Inclusive Team Culture We are intentional about attracting, developing, and retaining talent from diverse backgrounds.

Basic Qualifications 2 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems 3 years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design 4 years of professional software development experience 2 years of experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS technologies, Web Services or other Web Technologies Experience mentoring other engineers Experience building and delivering user-focused software systems or features Experience building software for scalability, performance and reliability Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
