About the position
As a Vehicle Shifter at UPS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network. Your primary responsibility will be to keep trailers moving around the UPS property, facilitating their unloading, repositioning, and loading. Depending on the facility's needs, you may also be required to move trailers off property. This position demands excellent driving skills, particularly in backing up trailers to the bay door, which is a critical aspect of the role. To excel in this position, you must possess the ability to operate a powered industrial truck (PIT) or tractor trailer safely. A valid driver's license is required, with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) being mandatory. Depending on your location, you may also need a Doubles/Triples endorsement. Additionally, passing the DOT physical is essential to ensure you meet the health and safety standards required for this role.
