Duties and Responsibilities of a Company Driver
CDL-A Company Drivers are individuals who drive company-owned commercial vehicles to transport goods over various distances, with a primary objective of ensuring the safe and timely delivery of cargo.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate trucks assigned by the company to deliver cargo to specified destinations.
• Confirm that the vehicle meets safety standards and regulations by conducting inspections before and after trips.
• Maintain compliance with allocated routes and schedules, emphasizing punctuality as a priority.
• Record driving activities accurately to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Establish effective communication protocols with dispatchers to relay delivery statuses and promptly address any encountered difficulties.
• Secure and handle the cargo properly to minimize any risk of damage happening.
• Abide by the traffic laws and adhere to the company's policies consistently.
• Help with the handling and transfer of goods during the loading and unloading procedures.
